Hi, guys —

I was going to go to the early Mass this morning but decided to go to the later Mass at 5:00pm except the weather was bad (it was snowing) so I didn't go.

  • Would this be a mortal sin?

i feel bad now; I wish I went to the early Mass but just decided to wait until the 5:00pm one.

Blessings,

Chris

Eric replied:

Hi, Chris —

Unless your intent was in some way to try to avoid Mass (say, if you expected it would snow,
so you had an
excuse not to go), or unless it was still reasonably safe to go out, it would not be a mortal sin.

If there is any question, I would bring it up the next time you go to Confession.

Eric
