Hi, guys —
I went to Mass today and it was nice.
- Why do some priests were red, some green,
and at other times, some wear other colors?

Paul
replied:
Dear James,
The different colors the priest wears
signifies different liturgical seasons
or celebrations.
For example:
- When the Church calendar
celebrates a martyr, the priest wears
red.
- When they wear gold, it's usually
a grand celebration, like Easter.
- Green represents Ordinary Time, this
period starts from the Baptism
of The Lord to Lent and picks up
again after Easter from Pentecost
to Advent.

Hi, James —
A priest-friend who helped us out
a while back gave us this elaborate
answer to your
question. It expounds on what Paul
has said.
